Interlibrary loan is an exchange of books and other materials between libraries throughout the state via the van delivery service. By participating in the service libraries share their collections with other patrons of participating libraries on a state-wide level. It is clear by the usage statistics that it is a valued service for Rockport patrons and we will continue to provide this service. We are always looking for ways to offset costs and find meaningful ways that your gift can make a difference. If Interlibrary Loan service resonates with you and you can afford to contribute, we welcome your help.
In 2000, Rockport Library patrons borrowed 208 items from other libraries through interlibrary loan.
In 2011, Rockport library patrons borrowed 6,900 items from other libraries.
Take a look at this chart. It illustrates the tremendous growth of this service!
