Hi everyone!
Welcome to Rockport Public Library's Children and Youth Services. I am very excited to be back in the community to serve as your librarian after a three and a half year stint as a library manager in Florida. Although I have worked in many capacities in libraries in both Florida and Maine, my passion is working with children, and my dream job is to work with children in a library setting.
I love nurturing a child's natural curiosity and sharing the excitement of experiencing the word through a child's eyes.
My education background in child development and elementary education, along with my volunteer experience with the Freedom Riders and Special Olympics, has provided me the opportunity to work with children and youth in varied environments. In addition to my love of reading you will notice from my photos that I am an animal lover. I am also an experienced horsewoman and have been riding horses since I was 11 years old. Along with my horse Pilot, I have a dog Ebbtide (Ebbi for short). I look forward to getting to know all of you!

A child's experience with reading is of the utmost importance to me. If you have any suggestions or concerns, I am here for you.
Sincerely,
Kim Slocomb
Thanks Heavenly Bean Bags! You may have noticed our bean bags are full and fluffy again. The owners of Heavenly Beanbags revived them for free and we didn't even have to ask. Now that's service!
