Welcome to the Friends!
Since 1979, the non-profit Friends of the Rockport Library has been committed to supporting and promoting the Library's resources, activities, and role in our community. We're always eager to broaden our circle of Friends. You can become a member any time and reach out to get more involved. Your friendship means the world to us!

It is easy to become an annual Friend of the library. Membership is $15.00 for individuals, $20.00 for a family, and $50.00 for a patron of the Friends. Pick up an enrollment form at the library!

The Friends are once again taking book donations. We happily accept books in good condition, but are unable to take magazines, VHS tapes, dictionaries, and text books. Please drop any donations at the library.

The Friends plan for 2022 is to have 3 book sales at the library, located in the lower level. The goal is to hold sales in May, July, and December--so stay tuned for more information. Proceeds of the book sales go directly to the library to help fund library programs, library materials, the butterfly garden, and items of need for the library.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • Book sales set up (tables, hundreds of books, signage) and break down (tables and books)
  • Book sale cashiers/monitors for restocking
  • Book sale sorting and pricing
  • Event flyers, press releases (working with library staff)
  • Library Art Wall (Artist contact and library liaison)
  • Annual Library Walk/Run (5K event in Rockport Village)
We need new Board Members! Want to work with a wonderful group of library lovers? The Board meets once a month for about an hour. The largest time commitment is generally around the book sales. Our current FRPL Board Members are: Betsy Elwin, Ann Filley, Nelda McClellan, and Brian Filley.

How to contact us: or leave your contact information at the library! We will be happy to call or email you.
